It was there that he met the love of his life and bride of 53 years, Donna Colvin. In the course of his life, he earned a bachelor's degree, a master's degree and was well on his way to earning his doctorate of Theology. He had many occupations as an aircraft engineer and mechanic, a lineman for Texas Electric and a member of the Civil Air Patrol, however, his true calling and passion in life was preaching and teaching the word of God. As a preacher in the Church of Christ, he traveled to and lived in many cities across the nation and around the world, which allowed him to touch the lives of countless people. In later years they settled in Robert Lee, Texas, were the family still lives today. His passion for the Lord was matched only by his passion for his family. He considered his three children, Lynn, Dan and Sharon, one of his greatest accomplishments. He was extremely proud of his four grandchildren Krista, Tucker, Kyle and Craig; and his great-grandson Danny. He passed from this world after a long battle with Wegener's disease, surrounded by his beloved family. Among the many joys of his life, Ken loved competition shooting. He earned numerous trophies, medals and accolade and was AA class silhouette shooter. He was an explorer and loved to hike, especially in the Anasazi Indian Ruins. As a motorcycle enthusiast, Ken traveled the country on his Honda Goldwing and earned the nickname "The Motorcycle Riding Preacher." But more than anything, he absolutely loved to fish. His greatest thrill and enjoyment was sitting lakeside, pole in hand, fishing with his grandsons. Kenneth Green was blessed with the love and friendship of scores and scores of people everywhere. His life was extremely full and happy and words cannot express how much he will be missed. However, the comfort we find is in knowing that he is now at home with his Father. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, at the North Side Church of Christ in Robert Lee. Burial will follow in the Robert Lee Cemetery.
