BILLIE FRANCIS GAINES

Services for longtime resident Billie Francis Gaines were held in
Robert Lee on Saturday, July 29, 2006.

She passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in Las Cruces, NM.  She 
was under the care of hospice after having a major stroke.

She was born on March 12, 1921 to George and Ida Pearl (Edwards) Ray 
in Junction (Texas). While residing in Levelland she worked at South Plains 
College cafeteria, Shugarts Studio and Goodwill.  She was a member of 
the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Monroe Gaines 
(of Robert Lee); two daughters, Sherry Pharis and Dawn Gaines; two sons, 
Bob Gaines and David Gaines and one great-grandchild.

Her survivors include two sons, Jan Pharis and his wife, Grace of 
Las Cruces, NM and Bill Pharis and his wife, Pam of Levelland; 
16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;
one sister, Virginia Latham of Levelland; and one niece (Jacqueline Latham).
