He grew up and went to school in Bronte, Texas. Bob was a proud Texas Aggie, and a retired chemical plant supervisor for DuPont. All who knew Bob knew a genuine, caring and compassionate man, who never thought twice about helping someone in need. None of us were ready for God to take him, but He was ready for him. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to call him their friend. More than anything, Bob enjoyed relaxing with his beloved wife, Patricia Loper, and their dog, Gizmo. They spent many a day watching the beautiful vista of Lake Livingston from their front patio and enjoying the company of each other, as well as their numerous friends and family members. Bob was an avid golfer, as well as a motorcycle and boating enthusiast. He enjoyed emailing his many friends and family and playing computer games. He loved to tinker around in his garage and make improvements to their home. Bob and Pat could often be seen driving around their neighborhood on their golf cart, stopping to say hi to all of their neighbors. Bob was a wealth of joy to his family, and we thank God for the opportunity to have enjoyed his company for the time we that we had with him. Bob is survived by his loving wife Patricia Loper; mother Clay Dell Bell; brother David Bell; son Robert Wade Bell; daughter Wendi Bell; stepdaughters Sheryl Shelton and Denise Humble; stepson Larry Pate; grandchildren Phoenix and Nova Morro, Haley Kovacevich, Damon Bell and Sky Bell, Rachel Shelton Crider, Katrina Shelton, Heather Humble, Ethan Pate and Larry Patrick; great-grandchildren Damian Humble and Logan Crider and numerous other loving family members. Funeral arrangements were handled by Pace - Stancil in Coldspring. The viewing was scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 6, from 5 pm to 8 pm, and the service was held at the funeral home Wednesday, October 7, at 10 am.
