He helped build the Robert Lee Mountain Creek golf course and the baseball field in Robert Lee Park. He played on the Rabbit Twister baseball team for years and if there is a baseball team in heaven, he will be playing shortstop. He also enjoyed countless rounds of golf with his friends, neighbors and family. Being a Mason was very important in Lewis's life and he taught the Masonic work to numerous men throughout his 60 plus years in the Masons. Lewis received the Golden Trowel Award in Brenham for outstanding service and also achieved the highest honor in Masonry, the 33rd Degree. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite and Shrine Club. After 44 years with the Sun Oil company, he and his wife retired to Brenham in 1980. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brenham.
