All rights reserved. ********************************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - February 5, 2010 BLOODWORTH Raymond Albert Bloodworth went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Robert Lee Care Center at the age of 89. Raymond was born on July 1, 1920, in Silver, Texas, to Horace Lee and Mary Walker Bloodworth. He married Gertrude Lousena Landers on November 10, 1942. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1997. Except for the years he was in the U. S. Army during World War II, he spent his entire life in Silver as a rancher and oil-field worker. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Raymond is survived by four children: Raynelle and Charles Askins of Dike, Texas, Carl and Laveta Bloodworth of Sundown, Texas, Lonnie Bloodworth of Silver, Texas, and Charles and Juanell Bloodworth of Carlsbad, New Mexico; grandchildren: Chuck and Shelia Askins of Dike, Texas, Lori and Davis Holdman of Sundown, Texas, Amy and Doug Barnes of Labadie, Texas, Miki and John Eddins of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Eli and Carla Boxell of Mc Camey, Texas, and Beau Boxell of Lake Whitney, Texas; great-grandchildren: Brent Askins, Jamie Askins, Kayle Askins, Shelbi Holdman, Troy Holdman, Chandler Barnes, Kenlea Barnes, Karson Barnes, Elly Eddins, Emma Eddins, Chloe Boxell and Branson Boxell; brothers: Ernest Blooodworth and Clayton Bloodworth; sister: Jewell Wallace; brothers and sister-in-law: Billie Talley, Bonita Hester, Donny Robertson and Elaine Bennett. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife and parents, his mother-in-law, Bonnie Robertson, his infant son, Albert Wayne Bloodworth, his brothers, L. C. Bloodworth and Allen Bloodworth, sisters, Ruby Roberterson and Daisy Price and brothers and sisters-in-law: Faye Hudson, Nell Tomes, Wilton Robertson and Charlene Dumas. He is also survived by a host of other family members and friends. A celebration of his life was held at the Robert Lee Baptist Church, Robert Lee, Texas, at 10 am Saturday, January 30, 2010, with burial following at McKenzieville Cemetery at Silver, Texas. Services were conducted by Alan Cartrite and Jim Dominey with special music by Buddy Wallace and Daryl Copeland. Jack Wallace recited a special poem. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Chuck Askins, Brent Askins, Troy Holdman, Davis Holdman, John Eddins, Doug Barnes and Eli Boxell. The family request memorials be made to the Vista Care Hospice or Coke County EMT. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee, Texas.
