Obituary: John W. (Buddy) Dyess, July 11, 2010 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines August 2010 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise Friday, July 16, 2010 DYESS John W. (Buddy) Dyess, 72, of Blackwell, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010, at his residence. He was born May 28, 1938, in Winters, Texas, to Abby Curtis and Mable (Overman) Dyess. He and Wanda Webb were married June 6, 1958, in Norton, Texas. Buddy was a member of the Blackwell Baptist Church and the Blackwell Fire Department. He worked at a gas plant and farmed for several years and went on to work 6 years as Lake Patrol at Oak Creek Lake at Blackwell, Texas. Buddy had a full and satisfying job working on the Texana Ranch in Blackwell for 32 years for very dear and special friends Carty and Linda Beal and Carl and Krisha Beal. Buddy is survived by his wife, Wanda of Blackwell; daughters, Sharon Ischar and husband Melvin of Ballinger, Karon Holland and husband Bruce of Blackwell, Deanna Clowers and husband Lonnie of Sweetwater; grandsons, Jimmy Holland and wife Stephanie, T. J. Holland and wife Keisha, Courtney Ischar and wife Jennifer, Mathew Ischar and fiancé Ashley, Justin Clowers and Jarred Clowers; and three great grand-children, Cade, Holland, Hudson Holland, and Cassie Ischar; brothers, Royce Dyess, Michael Dyess, and Curtis Dyess; and sisters Wanda Morgan and Janice Johnston. Visitation for family and friends was from 6 pm - 7 pm Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Bronte, Texas. Funeral service was held at 3 pm Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Blackwell Baptist Church with interment at Fairview Cemetery in Bronte with Brother Bobby Broyles and Mark Riggins officiating. Services under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Pallbearers were the six grandsons.
