Obituary: Bobby Louis Green, June 9, 2010 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines June 2010 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, June 18, 2010 GREEN Bobby Louis Green passed away on June 9, 2010, at the age of 76 years and went home to be with his Lord. He was born on September 29, 1933, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to charley Louis Green and Faye Dunham. He was the middle child of five children and spent several years living with his Grandpa Green and helping him on his farm. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1952 and spent the next four years serving his country, traveling overseas to places in the Pacific, such as Japan. He met the love of his life, Sarah Jackson, in Midland, Texas and they were married on November 9, 1956, in Midland, Texas. Bobby and Sarah had four children during their 53 years of marriage. He worked his whole life in the oilfield industry, spending the last 15 years of his career as a Drilling Consultant. Bobby loved to hunt and fish, and most of the family vacations were spent camping at the lake. He loved to spend his spare time poring through the Pro Bass books and organizing his fishing gear. He also was a wonderful gardener like his mother and could grow almost anything. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was a member of Pecan Baptist Church in Robert Lee. His family takes great comfort in knowing he is now with his Heavenly Father. Bobby is survived by his wife, Sarah; his children, Laurie Green Franklin and husband Russell of Odessa, Texas, Leslie Green Graham of Warrior, Alabama, Bobby Allen Green and wife Melanie of Fort Worth, Texas, and Louis Todd Green and wife Juanita of Iraan, Texas; one brother, Danny Green and wife Patty of Hawkins, Texas; and one sister, Bonnie Spearman and husband, Garnett of Manor, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Betty Taft of Rowena, Texas and Janie Fanning and husband Oscar of Abilene, Texas; ten grandchildren, Meagan Wright and husband Derek, Shawna Seale and husband Chuck, Brent Green, Christina Barton and husband Chris, Brian Franklin and wife Janelle, Jacob Graham, Rachel Green and fiancée Roderick Bookout, Tylene Green and Dakota Green; and eight great grandchildren, Emalee and Tristan Wright, Cad, Cara and Cali Barton, Cody and Madison Seale, and Jonathan Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Dorothy Endicott and Bette Storm; and his father and mother-in-law, Allen and Ruby Jackson. Visitation was held at the funeral home all day Friday, June 11, 2010. Services were held on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 2 pm at Pecan Baptist Church in Robert Lee with services being officiated by Pastor Jim Dominey. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Robert Lee Care Center and Vista Care Hospice.
