Obituary: Wanda Sue Caulder, December 31, 2011 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Mar 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - January 6, 2012 Wanda Sue Caulder, 73, died Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. The daughter of the late Lula Fannie (Palmer) and Robert Curtis Walker, Wanda was born on January 17, 1938, in San Angelo, Texas, and graduated from Robert Lee High School in Robert Lee, Texas in 1956. She graduated from nursing school in San Angelo, and in 1976 moved from Robert Lee to Abilene. Wanda worked as a LVN, retiring from Hendrick Medical Center after a 33-year career in nursing. She was an active member of Elmcrest Baptist Church in Abilene. Wanda was active as a volunteer for various groups and organizations including Frontier Texas, The Grace Museum, McMurry University, West Texas Fair & Rodeo, West Texas Rehabilitation Center and Abilene Christian University, and was a member of Potosi Quilters. Wanda is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy Caulder and Tonya of Graham, Texas, Eddie Caulder and Lori of Jacksonville, Texas, and a daughter, Debbie Sanders of McKinney, Texas. She was Meme to her five grandchildren and eight great-granddaughters. Survivors also include three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby Walker and Joyce, Curtis Wayne Walker and Annice all of Robert Lee, Donald Walker and Janice of San Angelo, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 12:30 pm Tuesday, January 3, at Elmcrest Baptist Church in Abilene with Brother Jason Gray officiating. The graveside service followed at 3:15pm Tuesday in Robert Lee Cemetery directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home in Abilene. The family received friends from 5 to 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
