Obituary: Lilly Jane Bryan Walker, March 27, 2011 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Feb 2012 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - April 1, 2011 WALKER Jane Walker Lilly Jane Bryan Walker passed from this earth into the arms of the awaiting angels on March 27, 2011, after a long and valiant battle with Alzheimer's. Jane was born to Nan and Lawrence Bryan on April19, 1941. She is preceded in death by her son Jodie Walker, mother and father Nan and Lawrence Bryan, brother, Calvin Bryan, sister and brother-in-law Francis and Bob Sumrall, brother-in-law Bill Scott, and brother-in-law Ray Allard. Jane is survived by her life partner and care giver Earla Ahrens and four children, Michael and wife Sommer Ahrens, Ryan Ahrens and partner Kristi Nichols, Jill and husband Mark McMurray and Bill and wife Lou Walker. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, Courtney, Kaden Bailey, Logan, Dylan, Zachary, Jennifer, Kelly, Kari, Kindy and Reed, due in May, and 3 great-grand children. She is also survived by sisters; Lou Ann Scott, Betty and husband, Bud Bonham, sister-in-law Hazel Bryan, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends. Jane graduated from Winters High School in 1959 and became a home-maker, later going to Dyess Air Force Base in the Civil Engineering Dept. from which she retired in 2001 after 21 years of service. She loved and pursued her hobbies of wood working and oil painting for many years until the disease took that capability away. Jane delighted in her grandchildren and could play with or hold them for hours. Jane never knew a stranger and would give and help whenever needed . Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2011, from 6:30pm until 8:30 pm at the Winters Funeral Home, Winters, Texas. She was a member of Exodus Metropolitan Community Church, where memorial services celebrating her life will be held on April 2, 2011, at 1933 27th, Abilene, Texas. Honorary pallbearers will be Paula Kinter, Tricia Harvey, Kathy Hardin, Julie Hardin and Sissy Heathcott. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Adult Enrichment Center of San Angelo and the Bronte Health and Rehab Center for the loving care, dignity, and quality of life given to her over the last 5 years.
