Obituary: Johnibeth Watkins, August 6, 2011 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Feb 2012 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - August 12, 2011 WATKINS Johnibeth Watkins Johnibeth Watkins, 76, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011, at an Abilene nursing home. Visitation was held all day Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at the funeral home. Graveside service was held at 10 am Wednesday, August 10, 2011, in Robert Lee Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home . Johnibeth was born at home on November 23, 1934, to J. C. and Winnie Mae Snead in Robert Lee, Texas. She attended school and graduated as valedictorian of Robert Lee High School in 1953. In her spare time, Johnibeth loved to read, enjoyed playing card games with her friends, and working puzzles. Johnibeth was a wonderful Christian woman. She was raised in church as a child and brought her family up in a good Christian home. She was a member of the Broadview Baptist Church where she was very involved. Her church and her church family meant a lot to her. Her Christian values were passed along to her grandchildren whom she took to vacation bible school. She was a wonderful, loving mother who was always strict, but fair, and taught her sons the true lessons of life. Johnibeth is survived by her sons, Johnny Watkins and wife Imogene of Abilene, Clyde Watkins and wife Kerri of Mineral Wells; her brother, Jack Snead of Ft.
