Obituary: Jerry Bower, March 12, 2012 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines April 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - March 16, 2012 Jerry Bower, 63, while surrounded by his loving family, left this world to go to his Heavenly Home on Monday, March 12, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Shaffer Funeral Home's Pioneer Chapel with Reverend J. T. Tucker officiating. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home / Grape Creek. Jerry was born May 7, 1948 to Mosey and Hazel Bower in Watts, Arkansas. He married his high school sweetheart, Louise Phillips, on July 6, 1966. While working in the construction field, they lived several places. In 1981, he started working in the oil-field and the family moved to Robert Lee. They made Robert Lee their home until they moved to Carlsbad in 2006. Jerry was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He loved the outdoors and he spent many hours hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed barbequing and his family boasted highly of his grilling skills. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Don Bower. Jerry is survived by his wife, Louise Bower of Carlsbad; his son, Jason Bower of Robert Lee; his daughters, Tina Zuniga and husband Bobby of Granbury, Lisa Herring and husband Jason of Refugio, Texas; his brothers, Delmer Bower and wife Louise of Marshall, Arkansas, Larry Bower of Leslie, Arkansas; his sisters, Thelma Baker and husband David of Leslie, Arkansas, Tammie Davis and husband N. A. of Marshall, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Justin Zuniga, Maci Zuniga both of Granbury, Kenzie Herring, Kobie Herring, Karson Herring all of Refugio, Beeanca Bower, Jayce Bower both of Robert Lee; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Odyssey Hospice, especially J. T. Tucker, Mary Ann Simpson, and Teresa Lewis for their love and care. Also, a special thanks to Joyce and Ron Waggonner, Jody and Jory Rector for all the help given to the family. There are so many people who helped us get through these last few months with all their love, prayers, and support. We thank each and every person for being there for us.
