Dwala was born on November 7, 1942, in Ionsville, Kentucky, to Wendell and Thelma Mason. Dwala married her love, William (Bill) Wayne Casey on May 26, 1962, in San Angelo, Texas, at Johnson Street Church of Christ. Bill asked her to marry him and she said "no" because she was told she only had a couple of years, he told her thatwas better than none, so she said "yes," and were married for 40 years on this earth and now reunited. Bill and Dwala made their home in Robert Lee and Silver, and ended up in Silver with the creation of the Cedar Hill Ranch. They bred, raised and showed American Quarter Horses, raised Border Collies, and had many other "critters" that they loved. Dwala loved showing her horses and riding, walks with her dogs, cross-stitch, quilting, books, puzzles, and Sudoku. She had a joyous and contagious laugh. She was blessed with wonderful friends who cared for her, helped and loved her and her family throughout her life and this final journey. She loved her Pecan Baptist Church family and relied on her faith through blessings, struggle and loss. She was blessed with the friendship, laughter, and love of Phebe and Rocky and their "trips" to Hobbs and Fredericksburg. And at her greatest time of need they helped her through it with love without bounds. Dwala worked at Robert Lee State Bank and was a board member and Vice- President at Heart of Texas Savings and Loan. She kept books for Clendennan, Inc., West Texas Counties Rural Health, and Ben Bessent Chevrolet. Dwala was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; and one nephew. She is survived by her brother, Dwight Mason and family of Pennsylvania; Phebe (Casey) and Rocky Heffernan of Miles, Texas, her "kids" Pat Heffernan and family of North Carolina and Stacey Braswell and family of Greenville, Texas, sisters-in-law Dian Coulter of Blackwell and family and Barbara Davis of Robert Lee and family, and many wonderful friends. Dwala was brought home to the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Silver, Texas, on Sunday, April 1, 2012, with her dear friend Dale Patterson of Bronte, under the care of Shaffer Funeral Home.
