Obituary: Roberta Herron, December 26, 2012 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Feb 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - January 4, 2013 HERRON Roberta Herron passed away on December 26, 2012, in Andrews, Texas. She was born July 15, 1921, in Bronte, Texas. She was the second child of Robert H. and Willie B. Herron. She graduated from Eunice High School in New Mexico in May of 1938. She was employed as a telephone operator in Bronte before moving to San Angelo and later to San Antonio. She was fun loving and affectionately referred to as "Aunt Roe" by her family members, who she dearly loved. In 1956, she moved to Odessa where she retired and lived until stricken with Alzheimer's in 2009. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Maurine Vaughn and Leah Muellen for their loving care until her death. Roberta is survived by one brother, Bill Herron and wife Judy of Odessa; two nephews and a niece; Mike Herron and wife Cindy of Odessa, John Leathers and wife Kay of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, and Anne Cardon and husband, Joe of Leander, Texas. She had one great nephew, Corey Herron and wife Ashlei of Hale Center, Texas, and four great nieces; Christi Anderson and husband Darrel of Houston, Carrie Hedegore and husband Bob of Cedar Park, Lisa Vish of Louisville, Kentucky, and Kameryn Herron of Odessa. Great- great nephews and nieces are: Mackenzei and Hunter Herron, Alex Anderson, Will Hedegore, and Catherine, Margaret, Virginia and Daniel Vish. Step nephews and niece are Jim and Curt Cottingham and Kelly Morris. Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Harrison Herron and Willie Belle Herron; her brother, Thomas M. Herron; her sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Carrol Leathers. Visitation was Friday, December 28, 2012, with the family present from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Shaffer Funeral Parlor in Bronte. Grave- side services were held at 2 pm Saturday, December 29, 2012, in the Fairview Cemetery in Bronte. Services were under the direction Of Shaffer Funeral Home.
