Obituary: Janet Hurley, December 29, 2012 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Feb 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, January 4, 2013 HURLEY Janet Hurley On December 29, 2012, Janet Hurley of Bronte, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Waiting for her at the gates of Heaven with open arms are her parents, Charlie and Phoebe Howard, her late husband, H. N. Holcombe, her two brothers, Earl and Bob Baker, and her son-in-law, Mel Kennedy. Janet was born on May 12, 1926, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class in Bronte. Janet would have celebrated fifty years of marriage on January 6, 2013. She is survived by her husband Elmer Hurley of Bronte, Texas; her children, Jerry Holcombe of Van, Texas, Sharon Kennedy of Winters, Texas, Charles and Donnah Payne of Burleson, Texas, Ron and Melodie Neeley of Kemp, Texas, and Debbie Hurley of Bronte, Texas; one brother, Bill and wife Bobbie Baker of Arlington, Texas; nine grand-children, thirteen and a half great-grand- children and many nieces and nephews. Janet's greatest gift was her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of her life is planned for a later date.
