Obituary: Margaret Ann Anderson Timmons, February 4, 2012 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Mar 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - February 10, 2012 Margaret Ann Anderson Timmons was born in Newton, Kansas, on September 21, 1931, and fell into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 4, 2012, following a long battle with COPD. Margaret accepted Christ as an adult and followed as a believer to her last breath. She was the daughter of George Anderson and Sarah Rhodes Anderson. Visitation was all day Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the funeral home with the family present from 6 pm until 7 pm. Graveside services were held at 3 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2012, with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Margaret spent her life as a homemaker, residing mostly in Bronte, Texas. She owned and operated a daycare for several families, and assisted in a grocery store that she and Charles owned in Bronte. She enjoyed watching television, was a fantastic cook, loved to go to garage sales, and loved family gatherings, especially at Christmas. She has resided in several communities in her life, including Lake Jackson, Bronte, and finally in San Angelo. Since the passing of Charles in 2009, she has lived with her daughter, La Queta and son-in-law, Harold and was warmly accepted by their church, and friends in Beta Sigma Phi, and Friendship Sunday School Class at First Methodist Church. She was a vital part of all celebrations in their home and will be dearly missed. Margaret was preceded in death, by her husbands, Bill Duncan, and Charles Timmons; her son, Billy Duncan; son-in-law, David Matthews; granddaughter, Morgan Matthews; and both parents. She is survived by daughters, La Queta Shelburne, and husband, Harold, La Rita Wilder and husband, Fred of San Angelo, Tina Matthews Brownfield and husband Dan of Vernon, Texas; son, Dennis Duncan of Abilene; sister, Mary Gourley of Clute, Texas; and sister-in-Law, Jean Mc Swain and husband Ross of San Angelo. Others left to mourn her passing, are grandchildren, Mercyla and Brad Fly of San Angelo, Mesha and Allen Millsap of San Antonio, Meagan and Tim Hunnicutt of San Angelo, Amy and Chris Turner of Corpus Christi, Stephanie and Drew Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jody and Tanya Wilder of San Saba, Heather Duncan and Jonathan Burton of Abilene, Trisha and Brad Dodson of Sugarland, Bradley Matthews of San Angelo, Brandon Matthews and Wyatt Duncan of Abilene; and a special family friend Brittany Rodriguez of San Angelo. Great-grandchildren include: Abigayle Shelburne, Amory and Kemper Fly, Mackenzie Millsap, Kaitlyn and Zachery Turner, Christin and Alexandra Williams, Ashlyn and Braden Dodson, Chris and Kayla Wilder, Tristen and Jayton Galvan, and Vandon Burton. In addition, she is survived by several nieces and nephews, and friends in various communities across Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of San Angelo, Bethel Baptist Church, First Methodist Church, or Faith in Action of San Angelo.
