Obituary: Clayton Bloodworth, March 27, 2013 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines March 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - April 5, 2013 Clayton Bloodworth, 79, passed away Wednesday March 27, 2013, after a short battle with cancer. Visitation was all day, Friday, March 29, 2013, at the funeral home, with family present from 6 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services were at 2 pm, Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Pecan Baptist Church with Reverend William Hood officiating. Interment followed at McKenzieville Cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandsons and great-grandsons with all nephews as honorary pallbearers. Services were under the the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Clayton was born on November 10, 1933, as the youngest child of Horace Lee and Mary Walker Bloodworth. He lived in Silver, Texas, all of his life, except for the four years he spent serving in the United States Air Force from 1952 through 1956. He met the love of his life in 1950 when Pansy Post moved with her family to Silver from Louisiana. They were married on March 21, 1955. They were blessed with three children, Janice, Clay and Patty. Clayton worked for Sun Oil Company for many years, until his retirement in1988. Clayton was a kind and gentle man who loved his wife, children, grand- children, great-grandchildren and all of his extended family. He enjoyed ranching and working off of the land which he did most of his life. He had a great love for all animals, and they had a special bond with him. Clayton was very gifted at working with horses. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Perry Post; brothers; L.C. who passed away at the age of two, Allen Bloodworth and Raymond Bloodworth; sisters, Daisy Price and Ruby Robertson; sisters- in-law, Gertie and Francis Bloodworth and Farris White; brothers-in-law, J.C. Wallace, Willie Price, Waymon Robertson, Jim Post and Jesse White. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pansy; his children, Janice Smith and husband Monte; Clay Bloodworth and wife Diana; Patty Schniers and husband Curtis; his grand-children, Matthew Burnett; Jacob Burnett and wife Danielle; Erin Smith; Brad and Leslie Schniers; Chad Lane and wife Mandi; Lewis Hearn and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren; Ryan, Braden, Danita, Kassidy, Kadence and Riley; mother in law, Maxine Post; brother, Ernest Bloodworth and wife Geneva; sister, Jewell Wallace; Brothers in law; Stan Post and wife Anne, Mike Post and wife Kathy; and sister in law, Betty Post. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and staff of Lighthouse Hospice and wish to extend a special thanks, to his hospice nurse, Dale, who spent countless hours at his side.
