Obituary: Floyd Wesley Farrington, January 20, 2013 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines March 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - January 25, 2013 Floyd Wesley Farrington, age 86, went to Heaven on January 20, 2013. He was married to Shirley Ann Perry for nearly 66years. They have lived in Bronte for over 30 years. Floyd was a veteran of the WWII Naval Submarine Service. He owned and operated Miles Paint and Body Shop before moving to Bronte to farm and ranch. Floyd was a Master Mason in the Miles Chapter of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bronte. Floyd loved taking his grand-children camping and fishing, especially to Lake Amistad. He taught them many things when they spent their summers on the ranch. After working cattle or plowing, they would cool off in the water in the stock tank at Bronte. While Floyd worked for Infilco Degremont Corporation as a Field Service Engineer, he and Shirley traveled to Egypt, Taiwan, Jamaica, and many other places. He is survived by wife Shirley, two daughters; Kathy and husband Sid McCown, Linda and husband John Dagenhart, seven grand-children and twelve great- grandchildren; Ron, Tracy, and Sheldon McCown, Jayson, Lindsay, Payte, Jake, and Ethan Treadaway, Stanley, Carren, Nathan, Natalie, and Sydney Treadaway, Lee and Mandi McCown, Keith, Jamie, and Tyler Treadaway, Dan, Jan, Gage and Cote McCown, and Chrissie, Wes, Camron, and Spencer Robinson. His siblings are Lolita Branham and husband Duane, McDale Farrington, Myra Denton and husband Bill, and Jay Farrington and wife Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd G. and Lora Farrington and great-grandson, Gabriel Treadaway. He was also preceded by his grandparents Ira and Myrtle MacDonald, and G.H. and Willie Mae Farrington. Service was held Wednesday, January 23, 2013, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm.
