Obituary: Billie Dove Allen Ross, August 20, 2013 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines May 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - Friday August 30, 2013 Billie Dove Allen Ross, 78, of San Angelo, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 20, 2013. She was born January 23, 1935, in Navarro, Texas, the daughter of John Allen and Dove Duncan Allen. Billie graduated from Midland High in 1952. On March 17, 1955, she was united in marriage to Wallace David Ross at Park Heights Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas. In 1960 they moved to Portland, Oregon and later returned to Texas in 1970. Billie worked over 50 years in the banking industry serving customers at Bank of the West, Western State Bank and Citizens National Bank. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Johnnie Eloise McDonald; brothers, Cecil Franklin Allen and William Bruce Allen. Billie is survived by her husband; children, Cecil Ross and wife, Christy, of San Angelo, Diane and husband Leslie McClatchy, of Bangs, Texas; six grandchildren, Carson, Chasity, Samand Chandra Ross, Cressie and Patton McClatchy; brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends were her passion and delight. She was an active member of her church and community. Billie enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, reading and most of all fellowship. There were two days of visitation, all day Thursday, August 22, 2013, at the funeral home in San Angelo located on Sherwood Way and all day Friday, August 23, 2013, at the funeral home in Robert Lee. Funeral services were held at 10 am Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Robert Lee Baptist Church in Robert Lee, Texas. Pastor Danny White of Robert Lee Baptist Church and Brother Todd Peebles of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Carson Ross, Sam Ross, Patton McClatchy, Mason Ross, William Ross and Spencer Ross. Interment followed in Robert Lee Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home and Robert Lee Baptist Church. Memorials may be sent to Robert Lee Volunteer Fire Department or Hillcrest Baptist Church.
