The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - November 21, 2014

Lavoy Dee Barrett, 57, passed away on November 10, 2014. Private services 
will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home.

Dee was born on August 17, 1957. He proudly served his country in the 
United States Air Force where he packed parachutes for eight years. He was 
employed by Gideon Sheet Metal for twenty years until his health prevented 
him from working. Dee was very compassionate and always ready to lend a 
helping hand to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Barrett.

Dee is survived by his mother, Betty Barrett of Robert Lee; sons, Joey 
Barrett of Houston, Robert Barrett of Lincoln, NB, and Sean Barrett and 
wife D Ann of Gloucester, VA: brother, Michael Barrett and wife Linda of 
Odessa; sister, Teena Pierce and husband Garry of San Angelo; 
grandchildren, Dylan Barrett and Samantha Barrett; nephews, Cole Bosworth 
and Mason Pierce; very special friends, Jody and Susan Rodriguez who 
supported him and loved him throughout the years. Dee is also survived by 
the mother of his children, Susan English.
