Obituary: Jimmy Cliff Bickley, April 25, 2014 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines May 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - May 2, 2014 Jimmy Cliff Bickley went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 25, 2014. Funeral services were held at 2 pm, Monday, April 28, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Robert Lee with burial following in the Robert Lee Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Jimmy was born in Trent, Texas, to Clifton and Fannie Bickley on February 14, 1928. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp as a clerk and typist. He met the love of his life, Emma Lee Thomas, on a blind date set up by his sister-in-law and they were married on October 10, 1953. They shared fifty-nine wonderful years together! Jimmy was the superintendant of Robert Lee Independent School District for twenty-three years. He was a respected man in the Robert Lee community. Everyone looked up to him and gravitated towards him. He was very loving and friendly, always putting the needs of others above his own. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and five siblings. Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Stella Wilber and husband Johnny of Stanton, Elizabeth Barron and husband Armando and Martha Benedict and husband Scott, all of Midland; one sister, Lavada Barnhill of Stanton; grandchildren, Dawson Wilber, Colton Wilber and wife Sarah Weston Wilber, Tyler Benedict, and Jake Benedict; great grandchildren; Blayde Wilber and Delayni Wilber. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his loving caregiver and special friend Dallas Oleksiuk for her care of our father.
