Obituary: Bobby Louis Duncan, November 28, 2014 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Mar 2015 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - December 5, 2014 Bobby Louis Duncan, age 80, passed away November 28, 2014, in Bronte, Texas. He was born to William Clinton Duncan and Iva Bridges Duncan on April 7, 1934, in Bronte. He graduated from Bronte High School and attended Texas Tech University for two years before joining the U. S. Air Force for four years. He was stationed in Denver, Colorado, Sacramento, California, and Fairbanks, Alaska, with the 109th special weapons squadron. After his enlistment, he returned to Lubbock and worked for Armstrong Heating and Air Conditioning for a year before joining the Lubbock Police Department in October of 1960. He worked there until his retirement in January 1994. He worked in Traffic, Patrol, Tactical, Juvenile and Detective Divisions. During his time on the Police Force, he received his undergraduate degree from Wayland Baptist College. Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years Thelma Ruth Stevens Duncan of the home, son, Clint Duncan and wife Jennifer and granddaughters Caroline, Isabella, and Elizabeth of Dallas, son, Ethan Duncan and grandson, Zane and Zane's mother, Connie Smith and daughter Grace, all of Canyon Lake. Other survivors include his sister, Billie Jean Fancher, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Stevens Nobles, both of Bronte, brothers-in-law, Ken Stevens and wife, Toni of Castroville, Gene Stevens and Lota Dunham of Dallas; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from five to seven pm Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the former R. K. Fancher residence in Bronte. The Family wishes to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Bronte Health and Rehabilitation Center. Thank you for your care and support. Graveside services were held at Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas, Sunday November 30, 2014, at 2:00 pm. Arrangements were by Shaffer Funeral Home.
