Obituary: Bennie McRorey, Nov. 3, 2015 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines 1-11-2016 *********************************************************************** Sweetwater Reporter, November 6, 2015 Bennie McRorey, age 70, of Blackwell, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at Blackwell First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry McRorey, Jr. and Rev. Jeff White officiating. Burial will follow at Blackwell Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at the funeral home. Bennie was born on Nov. 3, 1945 in Pearsall, Texas to James R. and Bennie Ree (Chester) Weaver. She married Larry McRorey, Sr. on August 8, 1964 in Carrizo Springs, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Carrizo Springs, Texas. She worked for Bronte Nursing Home as a CNA for many years before retiring. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Dee Holland and husband Brad Wade and Connie Tomlinson and husband John, all of Blackwell; son, Rev. Larry McRorey, Jr. and wife Cathy of Bandera; two grandchildren, Kelsey Johnson and husband Duke and Ann Elise McRorey; three great-grandchildren, Cooper Johnson, Easton Johnson and Kendall Ann Gomez; and one sister, Della Prouty of Friendswood, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. and Bennie Ree Weaver; husband, Larry McRorey, Sr.; grandson, Chad Wade Holland and brother, Dickie Weaver. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blackwell Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 465, Blackwell, Texas 79506 or Hendrick Hospice, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
