Obituary: Sylvia Christine (Doodle) Tinkler, January 4, 2016 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Jan 2016 *********************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, Coke County, TX - Friday, January 8, 2016 Sylvia Christine (Doodle) Tinkler, 93, of Robert Lee, went to be with the Lord Monday morning, January 4, 2016, in Robert Lee. Visitation was held all day Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the funeral home with the family present from 6 pm to 8 pm. Graveside services were held at 2 pm, Thursday, January 7, 2016, in Robert Lee Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Doodle was born in Millersview, Texas, to Morris and Frances Young on Christmas Day, 1922. She was the sixth of seven siblings; two brothers, Wallace and Raymond and four sisters, Viola, Lorene, Louise and Billie Ruth. They are all deceased. Doodle married Jesse Lee Tinkler (Chili) Christmas Day 1939 and became a farmer's wife. They made their home and raised their children in Robert Lee. Doodle was a wonderful mother to Jerry, Paul (deceased) and Betty. She was also a marvelous cook. Her caramel pie was the best ever! You never left her table hungry! Doodle is survived by her son, Jerry and wife Kay of San Angelo and their children Wade, (deceased), their daughter Daria and her mother Mary, Cody and wife Bobbie and their son Zachary, Lindsey and husband Jason and their children Gracie Belle and Abby. Also surviving are her daughter, Betty and her children Tracie Halter and husband David and their children Tyler and Erica and Sherrie James and husband Dwayne and their children Mason and Conner. Doodle was preceded in death by her parents; all her siblings, husband Chili, son Paul, grandson Wade. Memorials may be made to the Robert Lee Care Center. Doodle had made her home there for the last twelve years and they treated her like their own family. We were blessed by her care, thank you!
