Brooke, Comanche Public School teacher in the intermediate grades of Comanche, were held at 11:00 o'clock Friday morning, November 12, at Henderson Funeral Chapel in Coleman. Officiating was Sam Wilson of the Hillcrest Church of Christ, Coleman. Burial was in the Santa Anna Cemetery, Santa Anna, Texas. Mr. Brooke died Wednesday, November 10, 1993, in Coleman County Medical Center. Son of the late Joseph R. and Eva Henderson Brooke, he was born April 10, 1914 in Coleman County, TX, where he was a lifetime resident. He married Merah M. Brown in Santa Anna on December 26, 1935. He was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ, and a 50 year member of Masonic Mountain Lodge 496 in Santa Anna. He was a retired mechanic and stock farmer. In addition to his wife, Merah Brooke of Coleman and son, Brown V. Brooke of Comanche; other survivors include a brother, Joe C. Brooke of Santa Anna; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
