SCOTT SUN. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 1st. at 4 p.m., at the First Methodist Church, where he hald membership, for John B. Scott. Rev. Jack Payne, pastor of the First Methodist Church, and Rev. E.H. Wylie, First Christian Church pastor, officiated at the services. Mr. Scott died on Saturday February 28th at 6:30 a.m., 1953, in the Santa Anna Hospital, where he had been taken on Friday night, after a few days illness at his home. He had not fully recovered from a recent attack of flu and had not enjoyed robust health since receiving injuries in an oil field accident, about 14 years ago. He was born on July 21, 1893, in Navarro County, and moved to this vicinity as a boy. He continued to make Santa Anna his home, except for short time residences in other places, connected with his work. Mr. John Scott is survived by the widow, Mytrle Lee Sparks Ashley Scott, of Santa Anna; one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Arthur of Ballinger; one sister, Mrs. Vivian Gregory of Dallas; one brother, Leo Scott of Houston; and three grandsons. He is also survived by one step-son, Darrell Ashley of Santa Anna, other relatives and a host of friends. Pallbears were: J.L. Boggus, Bruce Snodgrass, O.A. Etheridge, Loyd Burris, Cliff Herndon, and Jim Daniel. Flowerbears were mostly nieces by marriage: Mrs. Coy Brooke, Mrs. C.F. Walker, Mrs. Ellis Densman, Mrs. E.T. Riley, Mrs. Shirl Tisdale, Mrs. Reginald Sparks, Mrs. Roy Kerbow and Mrs. Roy West. Burial was in the Santa Anna Cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. ---------------
