THOMSON TEXAS PVT CO A 2 REGT TEXAS INF SPANISH AMERICAN WAR APRIL 7, 1879 JULY 8, 1970 Additional Comments: Born Harry McDonald Thomson, the sixth child of Alexander Cromwell Thomson (1832-1910) and Sara Ann Bray (1847-1894), on 7 Apr 1879. Married Jessie Alice Melton on 9 Sep 1904. They had three children: Harry Melton Thomson (1909- 1969), Sara Isabel Thomson (1912-1993) and Helen Gay Thomson (1916). Harry was the first to enlist for the Spanish American War from Coleman County in 1898 at the age of 19. He was successful as a semi-pro baseball player, teacher, grocer and realtor. He was elected Councilman of Coleman, TX and also served as its Postmaster where he later retired. He died 7 Jul 1970.
