Additional Comments:
Born Jessie Alice Melton on August 4, 1880 in Bellville, Austin County, TX, the 

first of five children to Benjamin Harrison Melton and Mary Isabella "Gangie" 

Harvey.  Gangie was the owner/operator of the famous Melton Hotel in Santa Anna 

during the 1880s and 1890s.  Jessie married Harry McDonald Thomson of Coleman, 

TX on 9 Sep 1904.  They had three children: Harry Melton Thomson (1909-1968), 

Sara Isabel Thomson (1912-1993) and Helen Gayle Thomson (1916).  Jessie died of 

complications from a stroke in Coleman, TX on November 11, 1932.
