Go straight over Hwy 121 where the road turns into a rock road and is now CR 475; follow this to CR 472. Follow CR 472 around to CR 473 on the right, and then follow CR 473 to the end. The cemetery is on the right. History: S. Hiram Brinlee and Elizabeth McKinney Brinlee (the niece of Collin McKinney) owned 1,625 acres of land in Collin County. Hiram & Elizabeth built and ran a general store, made of logs, at the Stoney Point Community and they donated the land for the Brinlee Cemetery. Hiram Brinlee died July 28, 1885 and was buried in the Brinlee Cemetery where his grave and marker can still be seen. Nearby lie other Brinlees, slaves, friends and neighbors. A memorial stone for Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) McKinney is there too, erected by her great-granddaughter, Bessie Sheppard and others. History taken from family records. Note: Hiram Brinlee & Betsy McKinney Brinlee are my Great Great Great Grand Parents. -Lisa Hendricks McDonald We found this cemetery to be in good condition although there are several stones down possibly due to vandalism. The big trees on the East Side of the cemetery have definitely been vandalized. There are several stones that are unreadable and the earliest burial that we noted was in 1859. This is a complete listing of what we found but I suspect through family records that there are several other Brinlees buried here that we couldn't find. There are some pictures posted at http://www.usgwarchives.net/tx/cemph/collinph.html Alphabetical Listing: ?
