Wil- son. Weight 11 1-4 pounds. -------------- The new year will find Mc- Kinney and Collin county hust- ling along the path of progress. --------------- J.P. Dowell sent a barrel of molasses to the Buckner or- phan's home at Dallas as a Christmas present. --------------- The Editor was warned to work the streets las Monday but owing to the gloomy weath- er we failed to get out. --------------- We regret to learn of the sickness of Mrs. Clint Thomp- son, and hope she will recover soon. ------------------- Miss Isabelle Sims, of Little Rock, is visiting her uncle, Rev. A.M. Simms of this place. ------------------ About one hundred people mounted the train last Tues- day, bound for the old homes in other states. The Democrat wishes for all a joyous trip and a safe return. ------------------ Something Nobby in Patent Leather Pumps, (com- bining ease and comfort) at Harper & Roderick's. ------------------- Mr. G.W. Cole of Altus, Greer county, Tex., was in to see us last Friday and Satur- day. He reports wheat in fine condition in Greer county. (Column 2) One of our subscribers in- forms us that he is making ink out of Bois'darc juice, extract- ed from the timber by boiling. He will bring us in a sample soon. ------------------ Howard & Williams have re- modeled their business house in grand style with new furni- ture, carpets papering etc. ----------------- Edward Hill, son of Wood and Eugenia Hill, died last Saturday at the home of his parents, one and a half miles west of McKinney. The re- mains were interred Sunday evening at 2 p.m. at Pecan Grove cemetery. ---------------- When on a visit to Iowa, Mr. K. Dalton, of Luray, Russell county, Kan- sas, called at the laboratory of Cham- berlain & Co., Des Moines, to show them his six year old boy, whose life had been saved by Chamberlain's Cough Remedy, it having cured him of a very severe attack of croup. Mr. Dalton is certain that it saved his boy's life and is enthusiastic in his praise of the Rem- edy. For sale by R.K.
