Dr. Mathews of Howe visited relatives here this week. Mrs. T.E. Graham has returned from Paris. Sham Wilcoxson of Farmersville was here this week. John Gordan came over from Farmersville this Sunday to work in the Klondike saloon. W.T. Hazel and J.M. Hendrix, of Farmersville, drove over in a hack last week. John Ashby of Lucas renewed for The Democrat while in town Tuesday. Mrs. Geo. L. Murphy, of Sherman, is the guest of hr parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Cox, in this city. Jas. J. Burns, of Farmersville, passed through here yesterday enroute home from a trip to Sherman. Will Wells takes advanatage of our clubbing rates to order The Democrat which he is already a subscriber of, to his brother, Jno. Wells at verona and the Semi- Weekly Houston Post for himself. S.L. Hays, the accomodating Melissa barber, was in the city and subscribed for The Democrat r4ecently. Sam is in the race for Justice of the peace of precinct No. 3. He has been a citizen of our county many years, is well qualified for the office and has many ardent supporters who say he will win.
