Newspaper October. 1917 New Hope Kathleen Drake is on the sick list. Sunday School was a well attended at this place Sunday. Dock Terrell of Ardath was in our community Sunday. Mrs. W. F. Warden was among the visitors in McKinney Saturday. Mrs. Ethel Haynes of Gainesville spent part of last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Blagg. Our school is progressing nicely under the management of Miss Axie Groves. Mrs. A. D. Drake spent Sat. with Mrs. Ed Odell of McKinney. Mrs. Armp Mallow, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stanley of McKinney spent Sunday with Frank Williams and family. Miss Mable Fry spent Sat. night with Miss Cora Lindsey. Mack Cooper of Princeton was in our community Sunday. Miss Cora Lindsey, Mable Fry and Mr. Oran Blagg were the guests of Misses Myrtle and Clara Lochridge of the Mt. Zion Community Sunday. Master Ben Bishop of Durant, Okla. has returned home after a week's visit to relatives and friends here. Rev. L. A. West filled his regular appointment at this place Saturday night, Sunday morning and Sun. night. Mrs. Mart Allen spent Sunday with Mrs. Homer Coffey of the Mt. Zion Community. Jay Tarvin of Bonham spent Saturday night with his brother, C. T. Tarvin. October, 1917 Anna----Rev. Haywood of Pilot Point preached at the Christian Church Sunday. Mr. Haywood was formerly pastor of the Christian Church of this place. R. O./ C. Moore transacted business in Dallas monday. Miss Jewel Rattan of the C. I. A. at Denton spent Sunday and Monday with home folks. Rev. J. A. Caraway was a visitor to Sherman Sunday. Miss Hettie Bull of near Melissa visited here Sunday. Mrs. R. C. / O. Moore visited in Sherman Friday. Miss Bonnie Coffman visited in Dallas Sat. and Sun. Misses Nora Powell of Culleoka and Hattie Powell of Princeton visited their parents Sunday. John Lindsey of Westminster fell Friday and received very painful wounds. He was immediately taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. C. Forbes, who lives in this town, where he is being treated by Dr. H. L. Brown. We are sorry to state that his case is considered serious. Dr. Collins of Weston was here on business Friday. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Crawford and Miss Maud Webb visited in McKinney Saturday afternoon. L. H. Goforth and sister, Miss Johnye came in from Desert Sunday to visit their mother, Mrs. J, C. Goforth, who has lagrippe. Miss Ouita / Quita Strother visited in McKinney Friday afternoon. Miss Julia Vernon of Melissa was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Strother Wednesday night. Dr. H. L. Brown was a business visitor to Sherman Friday. The work on the new interurban is moving on rapidly, about two miles of rails have been laid. The new residence of A. Parr is nearing completion.
