All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** ~WEEKLY DEMOCRAT GAZETTE-22 June 1907~ -Death Of Aaron Bryant- The death of Aaron Bryant, which occured about 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon , came as quite a surprise to his friends over the city, for though he had been sick for about 2 weeks , and confined to his bed for a week, his illness was not believed to be of such a serious nature. However, he was suddenly taken much worse yesterday and despite all that could be done for him, he breathed his last at the hour stated. Mr. Bryant was born at Newport, Tennessee, June 24, 1860, and was therefore 47 years of age on the 24th. of last June. He came to Texas when he was 8 years of age and lived for many years six miles west of this city. On September 16, 1880 he married Miss Mira C. McMahan in this city and they made McKinney their home for the past 20 years. He is survived by his wife and 5 children, as follows: Alvin Bryant of Kelsler, Tx.; Mrs. H.O. (Laurita) Wilson of Fort Worth, Tx.; Mrs. Marcus (Shelley) Nelson, Mrs. Roy (Johnnie) Rambo and Miss McEdna Bryant of this city. Two children, Joseph Erby Bryant and Henderson Bryant died in infancy. Mr. Bryant was a member of Magnolia Camp Woodmen of the World of this city, and was affilliated with the Baptist Church. He was a gentleman of a quite, genial disposition, upright and honorable in character, and had many friends to whom the news of his death brought sincere sorrow. Funeral services will be conducted at the family residence on North Tennessee Street, at 2: 30 o'clock Sunday afternoon by Dr. E.E. King, Pastor of the First Baptist Church.
