He was born June 4, 1921 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Thomas Clarence and Hezzie (Snell) Allen. On May 5, 1952, he married Loyce Robinson in Crowville, Louisiana. Mr. Allen served his country in the US Marine Corps during WWII, where he fought in the South Pacific. He was a mechanic who worked at Jones-Blair Paint in Dallas, TX and after retiring worked at True Value Hardware in Allen, TX. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loyce Allen of Allen, TX; sons, Tommy Allen of Wylie, TX, Michael Allen and his wife Alisha of Allen, TX, Ricky Allen and his wife Leslie of Richardson, TX; daughters, Suzanne Cornett and her husband Garen of Crandall, TX, Cathye Pendley and her husband Chad of Frisco, TX; 22 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Schindler of Pilot Point, TX, Fannie Bell Hancock of McKinney, TX; and sister- in-law, Jackie Foster of West Monroe, LA. Preceding him in death were his parents, grandson, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in the Turrentine- Jackson-Morrow Chapel with the Pastor Wayne Lewis officiating. Interment followed at the Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family received friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening beginning at 7 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
