She was born on Feb. 21, 1945, the daughter of Stanford and Stella (Hensley) Rutledge. On Oct. 16, 1963, she married Robert Blankenship in McKinney. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker whose proudest achievement were her children and grandchildren. Last spring, she honored each of them with their own rose bush. She loved to garden and hear the birds sing. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert Blankenship Sr.; son, Robert Blankenship Jr. and his wife Donna of McKinney; daughters, Laura Carlile and her husband Daniel of Ft. Lewis Wash., and Natalie Blankenship of Plano; grandchildren, Jeff Prince II, Crystal Blankenship, Ashley Prince, Tyler Dukes Carlile and Luke Carlile; and brothers and sisters, Calvin Rutledge of McKinney, Leon Rutledge of Trenton, James Rutledge of McKinney, Marie Leggett of Fort Worth, and Eloise Daniels of Lake Dallas. She will be missed by many friends and other loving relatives. We love and miss you momma. We know you are finally at peace and free from pain - Robbie, Laura & Natalie. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 30, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, with Brother Woody Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Forest Grove. The family received friends during a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
