Interment followed at Kreymer Cemetery in Wylie. Mrs. Cardwell’s grandson, Jackie Cardwell Jr. officiated. Mrs. Cardwell died May 24, 2008, in Wylie. She was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Hewitt to the late Vernon Earl and Pearl Price (Welch) McClain. She married the late Harvey R. Cardwell Oct. 27, 1944, in Elm Mott. Survivors include son, Harvey Cardwell Jr. of Wylie; daughter, Sondra Swart of West Tawakoni; brother, Clyde McClain of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Mary Stamm of Wylie, Mildred Woodruff of Robinson and Tommie Hefel Finger of Mart; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leslie McClain and sister, Rilda McCorkle.
