She was born March 18, 1918, in Hugo, Okla., daughter of John and Ruth Cooper Spring Jr. She was a homemaker and worked for the McKinney Independent School District for 15 years in the cafeteria. During World War II she worked on the production line of the P-51 Mustang fighter plane as a riveter. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by daughters Deborah Kelsey, Joanna and husband Dwayne Fulmer and Rachel and husband Charles Miller; a son, Jonathan and wife Sandy Chilton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Franklin Chilton; and a daughter, Priscilla Arey. Services are at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee Street, in McKinney, with Rev. Vernon Burgess and Rev. Ronnie Chilton officiating. Burial follows in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. ~ ~ ~ The Herald Banner, Wednesday, May 21, 2008
