All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Obituary for Chuck Medders Services for Melford Lee “Chuck” Medders of Route 2, Sherman, 64-year-old chef, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in nWaldo Funeral Home Chapel. He died Thursday at his residence. The Rev. J. D. Horton of Sedalia Baptist Church in Collin County, will officiate. Burial will be in the Veterans Section of Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Medders was born in Celina, a son of Lonnie Jefferson Medders and Birdie Helms Medders. He attended schools in Celina and was a World War II Marine Corps veteran. He married Jan Turney on June 29, 1968 in Michigan. He had been a chef for Ramada Inn and Sambo’s Restaurants, and most recently was Maitre D’ at El Dorado Country Club in McKinney. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 2772, and Sedalia Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife; son, Chris Medders of Sherman; daughter, Samantha Medders of Sherman; brothers, Vernon Medders of Richmond and Bob Medders of Van Alstyne; sisters, Rita Batchelor and Peachie Dodson, both of Van Alstyne, Dena Hughes of Mesquite and Barbara Gentry of Allen. Pallbearers will be members of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2772. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the family residence.
