Curtis, 88, of Farmersville will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008., at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Chapel in Farmersville. Mr. Curtis died July 14 at the Hinton Nursing Home in Farmersville. He was born July 23, 1919. He was married to Edith Holland Curtis. He was a carpenter, and attended the First United Methodist Church Farmersville. Curtis, 88, of Farmersville died July 14, 2008. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Larry Kruger officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville.Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Born July 23, 1919, in Pike, he was the son of Roscoe and Willie Freeman Curtis. He married Edith Holland on Dec. 22, 1939, in Farmersville. Mr. Curtis served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Farmersville. Mr. Curtis was a past Master of the Farmersville Masonic Lodge 214, was a member of Eastern Star Lodge 940 and of the Farmersville I.O.O.F. Lodge. Survivors are his wife of McKinney; two daughters, Linda Huff of San Antonio and Patsy Mayo of Victoria; one son, Richard Curtis of Princeton; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.
