Prominent young Celina businessman victim of appendicitis. Esq. J. T. Buchanan was here from Celina, Texas favoring our office with a business visit. He informed us of the death of Ira D. Douglas Wednesday night, which occurred at Sherman, Texas where he was operated on for appendicitis. A second operation had to be performed upon him which he did not survive. The deceased is a son of Dave Douglas and was reared near Weston, Texas. He was only about 36 years old and leaves a wife and two small children. He lived on his farm near McWhirter school house until about three months ago when he moved to Celina to accept the position of bookkeeper for the Farmers’ Union Clearing House. The deceased was a Christian gentleman, highly esteemed by everyone, belonged to the Woodmen and held a $2,000 policy on his life. The death of Mr. Douglas cast a gloom over his home town.
