Funeral services for John David Ellis, 43, of Wylie were held May 31, 2008, at
Wylie United Methodist Church. Interment followed at Wylie Cemetery. The Rev.
Kathryn Strempke officiated. Mr. Ellis died May 27 in Garland.

He was born Dec. 24, 1964, in El Paso to Ray Ellis and Mary (McElree) Ellis.
Mr. Ellis joined the United States Army and served during Desert Shield and
Desert Storm as a motor transport operator. While serving in Desert Storm, he
received several decorations, medals and campaign ribbons for his service in
the Liberation of Kuwait.

Survivors include his parents, Ray and Mary Ellis of Wylie; daughter, Jordon
Ellis of Wylie; brother, Phillip Ellis of Mt. Vernon; sisters, Lou Ann
Mitchell of Wylie, Tammy Thomas of Farmersville and Tena Gray of Royse City.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
