Betty Jo Gatten, 66, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on June 23, 2008, in
McKinney.

Betty Jo was born on March 28, 1942, in Howland, Texas, to James E. and Ollie
May (Laird) Edwards.

She married Paul Richard Gatten on April 9, 1958, in Amarillo, Texas.

Betty Jo was the owner of Bee J’s Beauty Supply store and a real estate agent
for Charles McKissick Realtors. She was also a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Richard Gatten; sons, Michael Gatten of
Garland, Texas, Ronnie Gatten of Little Elm, Texas, Richard Gatten of
McKinney, Texas, Mark Gatten of New Hope, Texas, and Terry Gatten of Blue
Ridge, Texas; daughter, Tammy Hall-Robbins of McKinney, Texas; 15
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Hershel Edwards of Amarillo,
Texas; sisters Margaret Harris and Linda Carranza; and numerous loving nieces
and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ollie Edwards; brothers
Marshall Edwards and Buddy Edwards; and sisters Ola May Williams, Vera Pollan,
Margarine Smith, Jimmie Robertson, Dorothy Hannay and Pauline Lyons.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008, at
Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Jerry Weems officiating. Interment
will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday
at the funeral home.
