(Jack) Harrell, 55, of the Murphy Community near Plano, Texas, died at the family home at 1:30 a.m. today after an illness of three months. Mr. Harrell, a native of Arkansas was a husband of the former Neva Chipman of Celina, Texas. He had been employed in Dallas for 25 years before retiring four years ago and moving to Murphy. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Murphy Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Cottage Hill Cemetery. Acting pallbearers will be Curtis Vaughn, John Harrell, A. N. Harrell, T. E. Harrell, Neil Moore and Claud Harrell. Survivors include his wife; three brothers, E. C. Harrell, J. Tom Harrell of Terrell, Texas and W. F. Harrell of Munsen; one sister, Mrs. R. M. Vaughn of Wylie, Texas; one son, Raymond Harrell of Dallas, Texas. (The Celina Record, Texas, September 14, 1950)
