All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ Contributed by: Elaine Bay ************************************ Pink Hawkins, better known as "Grandpa" Hawkins Point Citizen Dies Suddenly (unmarked grave unless in section 3A) Pink Hawkins, better known as "Grandpa" Hawkins died suddenly at Cedar Lake just below Point, Wednesday morning about 9 o’clock. He had gone to the Lake to fish with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Pollard of Point and was preparing to put out a net in the water when he was suddenly stricken with heart failure and was dead when Mr. Pollard had reached where he had fallen. Mr. Hawkins was the father of Mrs. Julia Hurst of Lone Oak, and is survived by a number of relatives who live in Farmersville. The remains were carried to Farmersville Thursday morning where the funeral was held with burial following in the Farmersville Cemetery (Lone Oak News) ~ ~ ~ The Rains County Leader, November 30, 1922
