MCKINNEY MAN DIES IN CRASH

McKinney, August 24 - Lawrence Hayes, 1? year old, was killed instantly and
Lovejoy Comegys, about 18 years old, was injured seven miles south of
McKinney, on the Dallas Highway, when a motorcycle on which they were
returning from Dallas blew a tire and swerved into an automobile while
crossing a bridge at 6:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.

Hayes was the son of J. Hayes, manager of the McKinney Dry Goods Company of
this city and would have been a senior in the University of Texas this coming
term.

Besides his father, he is survived by a brother, Dalbert, and a sister, Miss
Vera Hayes.

He was reared at Whitewright, Grayson County. Comegys is a son of Dr. and Mr.
C.G. Comegys. Dr. Comegys is vice president and cashier of the First National
Bank here. He will recover.
