All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ Contributed by: Elaine Bay *********************************************** Robert Clay Henderson, 69, of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Plano, Texas, passed away on May 2, 2008, in McKinney. Robert was born on Dec. 28, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, to Bob and Erma (Hill) Henderson. He was a 1957 graduate of Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas. He subsequently graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Robert married Gwen Evans on May 27, 1960, in Oak Cliff. While attending the University of Texas at Arlington, he participated in track and basketball. Robert was president and owner of Diversco Corporation. He was formerly the executive director and president of the Texas Quarterhorse Association, in addition to being a member of the American Quarterhorse Association and the American Thoroughbred Association. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Henderson of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Desiree Ashcraft and her husband, Robert of McKinney, Texas; son, Mitch Henderson of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Austin Ashcraft, also of McKinney, Texas; twin brother, Rogers Henderson and wife, Sandra of Frisco, Texas; brother, Joel Henderson and wife, Blakey of Plano, Texas; sister, Sally Austrew, also of Plano, Texas; and numerous other loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Erma Henderson. Funeral services will take place at noon, Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
