Rutherford, 64, who resided at 1214 N. Church street, died Saturday in Wysong hospital after several weeks illness. A life-time resident of Collin County, he was born July 29, 1903 in Anna, the son of George W. and Debbie Jane Roberts Rutherford. He was a member of the Waddill Street Baptist church and had been an employee of Howell’s Furniture and Appliance for 13 years. He married Lora Renfro in Anna Dec. 23, 1924, who survives with a son, George W. Rutherford of Lubbock; daughter, Mrs. Guy Perry of Garland; four grandchildren, Brenda Perry, William Rutherford, Teresa and Joel Holder; three brothers, Herman and Hosea Rutherford of Anna; Homer Rutherford of Celina; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Baldwin of Houston; Mrs. F. E. Diamond Kemp, Anna. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Waddill Street Baptist church conducted by Rev. Hubert Long of Ft. Worth; Rev. Ray Milligan and Rev. West. Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery, directed by Harris-Horn Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Bobby Bogle, George (Slim) Rutherford, Dwayne Rutherford, Sam Baldwin Jr., Bobby Renfro and Willie Echols. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Waddill Street Baptist Church and members of the Omega Sunday School Class. (name of newspaper and date were both unavailable)
