Bryant Passes Away- Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock , after a lingering illness of five months, Mrs. Jemima (McMahan) Bryant quitely breathed her last , at her home, 205 North Benge Street. She was born in Cocke Co. Tennessee, October 12, 1861, and was therefore 51 years, 1 month and 16 days old at the tme of her death. She moved to Texas with her widowed mother when a young girl. They settled in McKinney at that time , where she has since resided. At the age of 18 she was married to Aaron Bryant Jr. who was called to his reward about 5 years ago.The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. W.P. Cloyd. To this union 7 children were born. Five of whom survive as follows: Alvin S. Bryant of Richards, Tx.; Mrs. H. C. (Laurita) Wilson of Fort Worth, Tx.; Mrs.Marcus J. (Shelley) Nelson of Farmersville, Tx.; Mrs. Roy (Johnnie) Rambo of Heber Springs, Arkansas; and Miss Mac Edna Bryant who is still at home. Joseph Erby Bryant & Henderson Bryant both died in infancy. Mrs. Bryant was a consistant member of the Baptist Church. She united with the Baptist Church of this city at an early age, but later moved her membership to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church where it ever afterwards remained. Besides the above mentioned children she is also survived by the following brothers: Henderson M. McMahan of the White's Grove Cmmunity; Malcolm McMahan also of the White's Grove Community and Sanders McMahan of Stamford, Tx. and D. Crawford McMahan of St. Louis, Mo. The funeral services wee held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. E.E. King. Interment was made in the Pecan Grove Cemetery. The editors of this paper extend sympathy to the bereaved ones in this sad hour of affliction. My Note-Jemima "Mira" McMAHAN BRYANT was born-12 Oct. 1861 in Cocke Co. Tenn. and died-28 Nov. 1912 in Collin Co. Tx. She was daughter of Sanders McMAHAN SR. & Lauritta CAMPBELL McMAHAN. KMN-13 Dec. 2002
