McMahan Dead- The announcement of the death of Joseph Manning McMahan, aged 49, last Thursday, was sadly received in McKinney and throughout the White's Grove Community, where he lived. He was the father of a large family, and leaves a wife to mourn the death of a loving Christian husband. For several weeks he hovered between life and death, during all of which time he meekly bore his great suffering and solaced dear ones with loving words of cheer and admonishment to meet him in Heaven. The Democrat keenly feels his loss as a personal one, and bows with the weeping loved ones to the will of the Master, but not without a sigh of sorrow. He was a farmer, beloved neighbor, true citizen. May his sleep be peaceful and Heaven's blessings abide wih the mourning ones. My Note~Joseph Manning McMAHAN was born-23 Sept. 1848 in Cocke Co.
