All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Maggie Lena Wester Obituary Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church for Mrs. Maggie Lena Wester, 92, who died Thursday in a Sherman, Texas hospital. Conducting the funeral were Rev. Byron Myric and Rev. John Taylor Bledsoe. Burial was Cottage Hill Cemetery directed by Scott Funeral Home. Her grandsons were pallbearers. Mrs. Wester was born in Collin County August 26, 1878, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. K. McWhirter, long time residents of the Alla Community. She was married December 19, 1895 to Van Everett Wester of Weston, Texas and he died on October 2, 1956. Maggie Wester was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Wallace Wester of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three daughters, Mrs. Jim Thompson of Celina, Texas, Mrs. Oscar Greenwood of Prosper, Texas and Mrs. Dave Cozart of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Alpha McWhirter of Greenbay, Wisconsin and Ray McWhirter of Bagwell, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Gaines Pruitt of Panhandle, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
