Helms, died at 6 a.m. Thursday in Pilot Point Nursing Home. Her farm home was a short distance northeast of Celina. Mrs. Helms was born January 22, 1875 in Weston, Texas daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Berry Hamilton. She was married September 24, 1891 to W. T. (Bud) Helms whose death occurred June 2, 1952. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Celina. Services were set at 10 a.m. Friday at Cottage Hill Methodist Church with Rev. J. T. Bledsoe, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald Coke, pastor of First Methodist Church of Celina, Texas with burial in Cottage Hill Cemetery. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Bessie Carlock of Rock Springs, Georgia, Mrs. Roy Brown of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mrs. Willie Francis of Sadler, Texas, Mrs. Claude Melton of Celina, and Mrs. Clara Smith of Denton, Texas; three sons, Jim and Cameron Helms of Celina, Texas and Don Helms of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Lee Howell of McKinney, Texas, Mrs. Kate Burch and Mrs. Ed Wester of Dallas, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Helms grandsons. (The Celina Record, July 22, 1965)
